12-day motorcycling trip from Romania to the breathtaking Adriatic Coast
This trip is more than a motorcycling tour – it is an epic ride through a region rich in history, breathtaking nature and cultural diversity. It is an unforgettable journey from the pulsating metropolis of Bucharest to the sun-drenched coasts of Dubrovnik. On your trip you will cross Romania, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia and experience highlights such as the legendary Transfăgărășan, the majestic Durmitor Mountains and picturesque Mostar. Every day offers new winding bends, fascinating sights and encounters with the hospitable culture of the Balkans. Experience the Balkans from a whole new perspective – from your motorbike.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Day 3

Bucharest to Kopaonik Nationalpark

On the first day you arrive in Bucharest, the ‘Little Paris of the East’. Your journey begins here. On arrival, you can first explore the imposing Palace of Parliament and then prepare for the adventure ahead over dinner together.

The journey begins on the second day with a spectacular trip to the Danube, a foretaste of what is to come. You check in for your second night in Vidin.

On the third day, the route takes you through the Kopaonik National Park to Serbia. Here you reach an altitude of up to 1700 metres. Surrounded by mountain peaks, you have an incredible view of the landscape and have also reached your destination for the day.

Day 4 – Day 7

Kopaonik Nationalpark to Dubrovnik

The winding roads take you to remote areas of Bosnia and Serbia on day four. You will visit the village from Emir Kusturica’s film and cross the imposing Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge. Your destination today is the Durmitor National Park, which rewards you with glacial lakes and jaw-dropping roads.

On the fifth day, a spectacular ride along winding serpentines into the Louvcen National Park awaits you. You can admire this beautiful landscape all the way to Dubrovnik in Croatia.

In Dubrovnik, the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’, you can treat yourself to a well-deserved break on the sixth day. The well-preserved old town and the impressive city wall offer a unique insight into the history of the region.

Day 8 – Day 12

Dubrovnik to Svilajnak

Your journey continues along the Adriatic Sea to the impressive Kravica waterfall and finally to your destination for the seventh day: Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina, famous for its historic bridge over the River Neretva.

The eighth day takes you to Durmitor National Park, which boasts a beautiful landscape: glacier views and serpentines at altitudes of up to 2000 metres as far as the eye can see. Once you arrive in Zabljak, your hotel awaits you for the night.

The ninth day of your journey takes you through many small villages to one of the deepest canyons in Europe: The Tara Canyon. Your destination for the day is Sviljanak.

Sviljanak - Bukarest

Day ten takes you back to Romania, where you can marvel at wonderful landscapes along the Danube. Clisura Dunarii' also awaits you; the place where Romania's history began.

On the Transalpina Road on the eleventh day, you will experience breathtaking views at an altitude of 2,145 metres, as it is the highest mountain road in the Carpathians. You will then arrive in charming Sibiu.

After an eventful evening in this beautiful city, you will continue your journey on day twelve via the legendary Transfagarasan Pass road. This takes you through the highest mountains in Romania, surrounded by spectacular landscapes. In the evening, you celebrate this unforgettable motorbike trip in Bucharest and can start your journey home on day thirteen with countless memories as you reminisce about your adventures through the heart of the Balkans.

The trip will rekindle your passion for motorcycling.
