After arriving, your first stop will be Bogota. Our partner will arrange an airport transfer to take you to your hotel. Here, you will have the opportunity to freshen up. Then, you will receive your welcome package, along with all of the necessary documentation for the motorcycle rental. In the evening, you can look forward to a welcome dinner with the group.
On the second day, you will start out from Bogota to go on an exciting city tour. Explore the historical city centre with its colonial architecture, visit the famous Monserrate and immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of La Candelaria. In the afternoon, you can enjoy some free time to yourself or with the group.
After breakfast on the third day, you will continue on to Armenia. You can look forward to seeing the breathtaking landscapes of Colombia, and impressive high-altitude routes that are especially fun to travel on by motorcycle. The La Linea mountain pass is an absolute highlight, and leads you through picturesque colonial cities and majestic Andes passes. You will have the opportunity to visit coffee plantations and enjoy their delicious coffee right at the source.
The journey on your fourth day takes you through a diverse mixture of terrain; some asphalt roads and some with looser surfaces, as well as meandering roads and high mountain passes. Another highlight will be the visit to Salento, the oldest community in Quindío, as well as typical coffee cities and tropical fruit plantations that give you an insight into the region's diversity.
In the fifth stage, you will conquer well-developed roads with particularly curve-heavy stretches and navigate across high-altitude mountain passes, which give you astonishing views over the Valle del Cocora and the Parque Nacional Natural Los Nevados. Visit the sugarcane plantations and get to know the local culture and hospitality of Colombia.
On the sixth day, you could enjoy a city tour of Medellin, because you can spend this day however you like. Experience the city's vibrant energy for yourself, visit the Parque Arvi, Comuna 13, and the famous Botero Museum. Explore the city under your own steam.
Together with the group, you will leave Medellin and continue your journey toward Monteria on the seventh day. This route takes you over asphalt roads with curve-heavy stretches and high mountain passes. One highlight of this stage is the Alto de Ventanas mountain pass, which offers breathtaking views. While you make your way through the picturesque Rio Cauca valley, you can spot the typical cattle farms that define this region.
On the eighth day, you will ride in the direction of Monteria, along the winding roads that run alongside the Caribbean coast. On the way towards Cartagena, you’ll discover the natural beauty of the coastal landscape and see the charming city of Covenas. Then, you will reach the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site of Cartagena, a city packed with history and culture.
Here, you will have a day to do as you please and enjoy everything Cartagena has to offer. On the ninth day, you can immerse yourself in the historical atmosphere of Cartagena and explore the exciting alleyways that weave their way among the colourful colonial buildings. Get swept up in the Caribbean way of life. Whether you do it on foot, by horse-drawn carriage, or on your own steam, you should explore his wonderful city and feel the vibrant rhythm of the Caribbean.
After breakfast on the tenth day, you will make your way to Mompox with our partner. The route will take you on well-developed roads dotted with exciting curves. The changing weather conditions could surprise you. One highlight of this stage is a visit to the heritage-protected colonial city of Mompox, which is located on the bank of the powerful Magdalena River. Here, you can see the colonial heritage and impressive architecture.
On the eleventh day, you will ride from Mompox to Barichara. This is an on-road route with plenty of winding stretches and high mountain passes; perfect for motorcyclists! One absolute highlight is the ride through the Chicamocha Canyon, which offers spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. Then, you will reach Du Barichara, which is known as the most beautiful city in Colombia with its well-preserved colonial architecture.
Barichara is described as the prettiest city in Colombia, and there's good reason for that. The city's impressive colonial architecture, which has been kept in excellent condition, is perfect for exploring.
On the twelfth day, you should use your free day to discover what else Colombia has to offer. You can spend the day wandering around the picturesque streets, enjoying the wide range of cuisine, and marvelling at the spectacular views.
After breakfast, you will leave Du Barichara and make your way back to Bogota. On the way, you will have the opportunity to see the charming village Villa de Leyva and sit under the clear Colombian night sky to see the Milky Way.
On the 14th day, you will board your flight home with some wonderful new insights. New friends and fond memories of an incredible experience will make sure that you won't forget this unique motorcycle tour any time soon.
The fascinating beauty of Colombia can be seen particularly well in the well-preserved charm of the captivating colonial city of Barichara.
